JD TAYLOR established his undeniable blues credentials as leader of Tenessee’s popular Little Boys Blue for more than 25 years and 5 albums including 2018’s chart-topping VizzTone release, Hard Blue Space. Taylor’s 2020 debut solo release, THE COLDWATER SESSIONS, is a tour-de-force, combining JD’s passion for creating and writing blues and roots music with his naturally soulful singing and tasty harmonica playing. This recording presents Taylor’s original songs with some of the best touring blues musicians from the fertile Memphis scene, including the Grammy-nominated singers from the band “Southern Avenue” and legendary Hi Records B-3 organist the Rev. Charles Hodges. The album is a showcase for Taylor’s soulful songwriting, showing diverse influences including the Stax sound, Bill Withers, the Meters, and more. THE COLDWATER SESSIONS was recorded and co-produced by engineer Kevin Houston at the renowned Zebra Ranch Studio founded by the late Jim Dickinson located in North Mississippi near Coldwater.
